At first I did as the directions said and did not rub it in - BIG MISTAKE! However, the color was nice and it lasted through my workouts and showering after about 4 hrs of using it. So, I tried again, instead, I blended it. This seemed to work. I've mastered a routine of how to get the best results. I spray my arms first, rub it in, wash my hands. Then I do my chest and torso area, rub it in, wash my hands. I continue this doing my legs from the knees down and then from the knees up. I did find that I was coughing after I did this, so I bought those face masks that doctors use and it seems to help. By the way, the smell is quite pleasant. From someone who has tried several alternatives, I'd definitely recommend this product (but make sure to rub in!).

I have mediam light asian skin tone, and wanted to find something that would give me that bronzy look for summer without the fear of skin damage from uv rays. I found this at Rite aid after reading a few reviews for it, and decided to get it. I put some on both legs just to test it out. My right leg turned out perfect, my left leg had streaks and blotchs that were orange, a totally different color than my right. I used a scrubing facial wipe and cleaned up the spots and resprayed it. After which it looked a better. so this is a half way good product , its just that you need to practice to get it right. Make sure you get a light mist over the area not a spray. The mist should cover evenly. Try not to spray in one area too much. Just a tip for those with stretch marks and really light skin, this actually makes them more visable not hidden so take it easy in those areas.

I have used this product several times this summer and have not had one bad experience. I have an extremely fair skin tone and it still covers well with nice "real" looking color. I do believe it probably lasts longer on someone who has an olive skin tone or something similar.

Exfoliating just before application will help remove and dry flakey skin, and that is important.

The best advice I can give regarding this product is you need to use it just as the manufacturer recommends. If you spray too close to your skin then you would (as one reviewer stated) end up with uneven color, missed spots and even drips. Even though it is colorless when being applied, if you watch carefully you can see if you have gotten too close and if too much tanner has been applied in a specific area. I've used L'Oreal Sublime Bronze tinted self-tanning lotion for the last two years and love it. I'm very pale so this is a great product for me. I usually apply the lotion twice before whatever event it is I'm using it for so I have color, but there's not a big difference between the tanned parts and my feet, elbows, etc (where you're not supposed to use it). The only bad thing is that it's kind of sticky and, like all self-tanners I've used, has a funky smell, but when it dries, it leaves a nice shimmer along with a natural looking tan.
*Note I use gloves to apply this because if even a little gets on my hands it stains badly.

I bought this product when it first came out after using the L'Oreal towelettes for so long. I wanted something that gave more and better color, especially for the summer, and I felt like with the towels I waited around for what seemed like little to no color at all. I bought this stuff along with the St. Tropez bronzing mousse, to compare the two since I had heard so much about the St. Tropez brand. I gotta say, I LOVE the L'Oreal tinted tanning lotion SO much more! I cannot believe the natural looking, QUICK color it gives you, and how easy it was to apply. I love that ou can see the color instantly and then it continues to build even more after that! I'm naturally like this ghostly white... and this gives me such a pretty, natural, sun-free glow that's not orange at all... The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it IS a little sticky, but when it does dry completely it makes your skin look and feel great! I have been using this product (only the gelee from Loreal) for a good year now and it never fails. Since its harder to find the gelee I get the spray gel, it works the same. I spray about two pumps into a gloved hand and use one pump aveeno lotion mixed together so that the gel doesn't dry faster than I can spread it evenly. I've used this technique with awesome results! The lotion doesn't tone down the tan, it comes out a natural deep bronze, no orange and no streaks! My friend who saw me wearing a dress said "where did you go to get such a nice tan?!" I told her Loreal Sublime! She didn't believe me, she thought I had gone to a tropical island for a week without telling her. Unfortunately they don't sell this at Target, they only sell the lotions which do not have the same deep tan result! I've tried and it gave me streaks of a light tan with a dirty look. Now I have to reorder the gel!

I really like this peoduct because it goes on so easily, doesn't have a harsh smell, and produces a realistic looking tan in a few hours. I only have to use a little bit of the spray and end up with a nice color. The only thing that I wish was different about the product was that it's clear when it goes on so I've ended up with a few darker spots and streaks. I make sure to spray it into my hand first and then rub it on and that seems to help.

I have used the Loreal Sublime Self-Tanning Gelee many times and love it. This is a different product (called a gel, not a gelee) and it's awful. It dries too fast, before you have time to spread it and rub it in evenly, so you end up with a splotchy orange "tan".The bottle says "Gradual tan build" but this is NOT a gradual tan. It's way to dark and uneven with just one application.
